Legal and medically prescribed: In Switzerland, medical cannabis is available only on prescription and meets controlled pharmaceutical-quality standards; we assess the therapy medically and provide close ongoing follow-up.
Medical cannabis is not a remedy for every complaint and is no substitute for comprehensive medical treatment. Whether it is an option for you can only be judged after a careful medical assessment.
The following overview is intended as general information and explicitly does not constitute any promise of effect.
Possible areas of use that require medical assessment
In the scientific literature, medical cannabis is studied – and, following medical assessment, used – in areas including the following:
- Chronic pain that is not adequately controlled by previous therapies
- Spasticity, for example in the context of multiple sclerosis
- Nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite (for instance during demanding accompanying therapies)
- Palliative situations in which relief and quality of life are the priority
- Sleep disorders associated with a treatable underlying condition
This list is not exhaustive and is not to be understood as a recommendation for any particular preparation. Whether a therapeutic trial is sensible and justifiable in your case depends on your medical history, your previous treatments and a weighing of benefits and risks.
Individual medical assessment of indication
Every cannabis therapy begins with an individual medical assessment. Only then is it decided whether an indication exists, which active-ingredient composition is considered and in what form treatment can take place. There is no entitlement to any particular medicine or preparation.
Like any effective therapy, cannabis therapy can carry side effects and contraindications. We weigh the benefits and risks together with you, inform you about possible undesirable effects and provide close ongoing follow-up. You will find the basics on active ingredients, forms of administration and contraindications under Medical cannabis.

How we proceed
If a possible indication exists, we discuss the next steps, any therapeutic trial and the coverage of costs transparently with you. To read how treatment with us proceeds step by step, see How it works.
Are you unsure whether cannabis therapy is an option for you? Let us assess it together, medically.
